It’s not a princess party, mom. I’m a QUEEN! So, it’s a queen party!
– My four-year-old
We hosted a princess/queen themed birthday party for our daughter this weekend and had a blast playing with the interpretation – we had a queen of hearts, Freddie Mercury from QUEEN, and 3 fairy godmothers to my daughter’s sleeping beauty. All the girls came in their favorite costume, we did an adorable low-mess, easy clean up craft, had pizza and cake and played while the parents had Prosecco and cheese and hung out – it was the best!

Decorations
Our house didn’t look like Disney threw up in it, but we stuck to pastel rainbow colors in the same shades as the typical princess dresses. I always do an easy balloon half-arch that I attach to a curtain rod, and this time I made a balloon pillar with the extras!
Activity
- Princess face masks were affordable, required no prep work or building of crowns, and allowed for easy decorating
- We used Elmer’s school glue, applied with a qtip from a little cup of glue to apply decorations – they were mostly dry by the time the kids went home
- large container of rainbow colored jewels (similar) made the decorating so fun for the girls and easy for small hands
- the rest of the decorating was done with markers – not too many supplies made it easy and fun to do for ages 2-6
goody bags
my daughter had the best time putting these together in the weeks leading up, specially selecting each item for each friend
- princess stickers
- princess temporary tattoos
- pencils with fun erasers
- friendship bracelet individual kits
- crown curly straw
- individual princess dress bags
Hope you enjoy these ideas for your next little princess party!
